Hello Everyone
You will be aware that for some time Athletics Canterbury has been working with the Christchurch City Council on a proposed sports hub at Nga Puna Wai that will include an athletics facility to replace that lost in the 22 February 2011 earthquake.
The City Council has now opened up the Nga Puna Wai sports hub proposal for a 2 months consultation period from Friday 10 October until 5pm on Friday 12 December 2014.
This consultation is open to anyone and the full Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub Masterplan Concept Design Report, Statement of Proposal and amendments to the Management Plan can be viewed at either –
At any Council library, Recreation and Sport Centre or Service Centre.
Submissions and comments are sought during the consultation period.
To assist those involved in our sport we will be holding an “open” meeting as follows –
Date:      Thursday 30 October 2014
Time:     7.30pm
Venue:   Cashmere Club, Colombo Street
At least one representative of the Christchurch City Council will be present and we urge anyone with an interest in athletics to attend. This includes Club Committee members, coaches, athletes, parents, supporters, etc.
This will be one opportunity to learn about Nga Puna Wai and the athletics facility in particular as we gather as much support for the proposal and work through the two months consultation proposal. At this meeting we hope to be able ts are left in no doubt of our sport’s support for the Nga Puna Wai sports hub.
We will be pleased if you would distribute this E-mail to your network of members etc.
We look forward to welcoming you on Thursday 30 October.

WE are spending extra time over the next 2 weeks practising our specific run, jump and throw skills as well as increasing our House focus for the event!

Thanks to Dean Hurley for cleaning up and refilling our long jump pits!

Thank you so much to our coaches and our managers for giving the children this opportunity.

Many classes are spending an EOTC at the Beach (Education) in week 6 learning to surf, be safe and have fun!

There is a Canterbury Summer Tournament on 19 November which we will be sending teams to - tennis, golf, and maybe softball and tag (rugby league equivalent of rippa).
